Eggplant Purple Makes Rooms Rich

Eggplant Purple Makes Rooms Rich

I don’t especially prefer to eat eggplant (it is OK smothered in cheese and red sauce), however I do like to look at it. It’s so rich and hot and confident. There is a reason that it was once considered a royal color.

Often referred to as aubergine (when you’re attempting to become French), eggplant isn’t one accurate color. It’s a deep purple, sometimes red, sometimes bluer. It may be almost black or nearly gray. I like it like an accent and, to be absolutely honest, this entire article is motivated by my brand-new eggplant accent wall in my tiny, eclectic bedroom.

Here are several rooms boasting a little eggplant. Some are contemporary, some are lush and conventional. All are richer for it.

This very dark variant goes with red, white and natural wood. As always, the colour adds richness to the space (and I will bet it makes it sense warmer also).

My new eggplant accent wall — it is small but powerful. I used Benjamin Moore’s Kasbah and could not be more happy with it.

A lighter, brighter version with matching throw pillows. This color is only a couple of colors away from magenta. Nice and vivid against the snowy. Sherwin-Williams’ Kimono Violet is very close.

The expression should be “trendy as an eggplant.” This dusty, grayish variant is just so powerful and laid back. It demands attention without screaming for it.

Eggplant doesn’t need to be relegated to accent walls. By all means, paint the entire room. Coupled with a crisp white trim, it is absolutely amazing.

Eggplant in the kitchen, in which eggplants belong. This consists of an otherwise nearly sterile contemporary roomscape. It’s a stunning shade. Mature Grape by Sherwin-Williams is very close.

More eggplant in the kitchen with only enough grey in it to bring out the feel of the marble and only enough purple to pop from the white. I adore this courageous choice.

This is very nearly burgundy, but I’m still going to claim it to the eggplant team. 1 deep, rich place makes this entire room look sophisticated and cozy.

Proceed beyond pastels and primary colors. Following is a lovely red version of eggplant in a child’s room.

My beloved Madeline Weinrib at eggplant. This would look amazing in an darkened space or layered in a multicolored boho casbah. Sigh.

A conventional Chesterfield with a bit of purple to keep it from being a bit too reminiscent of pipe smoke and hunting dogs.
