How to Clean Deep Stains on White Plastic Furniture

It isn’t stain-proof, although Vinyl furniture, called resin furniture, is lightweight and low-maintenance. Stains and dirt stick to it, like a magnet clings to metal, if your furniture is white. Some stains wipe away with soap and elbow grease, but others are not as simple to fight. Furniture isn’t destined for the trash heap, though: You can liven it up fast. When mixed with oxygen, water bleach forms hydrogen peroxide and soda ash, two cleaning agents which deliver a knockout punch to spots and also make your furniture seem new again.

Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water, then add 1/4-cup clear liquid dishwashing soap.

Dip a sponge or soft-bristle brush to the water. Wipe the vinyl furniture down to eliminate debris and dirt.

Put on a set of rubber gloves. In another bucket, combine 1 gallon of warm water 2 tablespoons of oxygen bleach. For stains, use 1 cup of oxygen bleach per gallon of water.

Wet a sponge or brush using the bleach mixture, then wipe the furniture . Scrub the stains until they will not fade or disappear.

Allow the bleach mix place for 5 to 10 minutes, then wash the furniture. Allow the furniture to dry.

Apply a dab of car wax then buff the plastic using circular motions. Paste wax repels dirt and stains.
